Our Creative Services team reviews every order’s design before production to ensure it meets the necessary criteria. Depending on the design review, they may or may not contact the customer. All orders are placed on hold until they have been reviewed and approved by the Creative Services team (and the customer if necessary).

Materials

Our standard compostable films are crafted from a blend of beet, cassava root, corn, and wood pulp. These pouches excel in various uses, but they are especially well-suited for dry foods and powders. They can even be composted organically, making them environmentally friendly.

Rest assured, all our materials maintain their quality and shelf life, comparable to traditional flexible packaging options. Simply store them in a dry, room-temperature environment, and they will remain stable over time

All of our standard films are certified as either home compostable or industrially compostable.

Standard compostable materials:

White - Our strongest option provides maximum protection against moisture, light, and oxygen, with excellent puncture resistance. The solid white outer layer enhances vibrant designs.
- Home Compostable
Metallized - This option also provides the strongest moisture, light, and oxygen barrier, with excellent puncture resistance. The outer layer has a metallic look for added dynamism.
- Home Compostable
Clear - Our transparent option provides a good moisture and oxygen barrier. It also allows for windows to showcase the product inside. For window design instructions, refer to this article.
- Industrial Compostable

Recyclable materials: (Use these for liquid, cream, gel products.)

Clear Recyclable - Our transparent recyclable option provides our maximum moisture and oxygen barrier across all film options. It also allows for windows to showcase the product inside. For window design instructions, refer to this article.
- How2Recycle Certified Recyclable (store drop-off)
White Recyclable - Our opaque recyclable option provides very high protection against moisture, light, and oxygen, with excellent puncture resistance. The solid white outer layer enhances vibrant designs.

Finishes

Finishes protect the printed layer on the package to keep your design and brand looking exactly how you want it.

Our two types of finishes are:

Gloss: has a high sheen that creates a shiny look
Matte: reduces the natural material’s sheen for a more subtle look
Soft-Touch Matte: *coming soon*

Zippers

Both of our zipper options are industrially compostable.

Standard Press-to-close: a standard zipper you might see on a zip-lock bag, only - this one is compostable.
Child-Resistant: often used for cannabis or other products that require child-resistant enclosures. This does not constitute as a Child-Resistant certification; the entire finished package still needs to be reviewed for that process.

Hangholes

Hangholes are for hanging up your pouch. These are optional and free of charge. Types of hangholes we have:

Round: looks like a hole punch and is better for lighter weight items
Euro: a versatile hole punch with a wide base to distribute the weight of the package more evenly.

Valves

Degassing valves are commonly found in flexible packages used for roasted coffee beans. These valves help the package maintain a controlled release of gas pressure, which prevents the bag from bursting or exploding. Ours are industrially compostable.
